Tennis balls are not generally yellow. They are usually green.
A tennis ball can become yellow if it is left out in the sun for a very long time (months and months), and will turn yellow due to sun exposure.

Basically, the ball is a different color, so that refferee's and other players can judge the amount of spin on the ball (I.E. if a ball is blue and yellow, and it spins fast, it will turn greenish), thus allowing them to judge what to do with that ball. (Every ball is a gift from god...do something with it)
The person is indeed a libero, but some teams do not use it for a specific skill as said before. Some teams use it as an indicator for the setter, or someone you should make all your passes to. On my team, we had 2 girls wear pink shirts underneath their jerseys to show they were our strong player, or our setters. So when we got a serve, we knew where to pass to. In other cases, this is different.
The tennis ball is yellow because of the felt on the outside of the balls. The words on the tennis ball you may see on the yellow felt is just letters people wrote in black ink. That is why the tennis ball is most likely to be yellow!

They used to be white but the color yellow is easier for the players to see.

So they can judge the speed of spin on the ball, the faster the spin, the ball goes green.
