There is tenpin bowling, duckpin bowling, fivepin bowling, ninepin bowling. Variations of tenpin include color pin, red head pin, 9 pin no tap, Monte Carlo, Even/Odds, Low ball, and best frame.
Two Actually you get two bonus throws, not frames.
In all games that I am aware: tenpin, duckpin, and candle stick, a perfect score is 300. The only exceptiont that I am aware of is five pin bowling. The perfect score is 450. You get 15 pins for a strike.

There is one at UP Diliman Alumni Center. The wood lane is not smooth and you can see the ball jumping as it rolls down the lane. The pin setter is also done manually by the personnel there.

A perfect game would consist of 12 consecutive strikes in the same game = 300 pins.The highest actual score, however, is 279, bowled by Pete Signore Jr. of Connecticut on March 5, 1992. (The record for a woman is 265, set by Carol Gittings of Maryland on May 6, 1973.)

There are TEN (10) pins in a standard game of bowling. In regards to the ball rolled... ... the larger ball is used in standard 10-pin bowling, and is rolled up to a maximum of twice per frame per person. ... the smaller ball is used in "duckpin" bowling (still 10 pins, although smaller), and is rolled up to a maximum of THREE times per frame per person.
