Question: Who was the last man to hold both the 100m and 200m world records at the same time? Answer: It was Ray Norton of the United States. On April 18, 1959 he tied the world record of 10.1 in the 100m in San Jose, California, USA. Then on April 30, 1960 he tied the world record of 20.6 in the 200m in Philadelphia, United States. Therefore on April 30, 1960 he held world records in both the 100m and 200m. Since then no man has held the world records in the 100m and 200m at the same time, until Usain Bolt in 2008. Almost 50 years later! Bolt set world records of 9.69 in the 100m and 19.30 in the 200m at the Olympic Games in Beijing China in August of 2008. -Asad Raza
