I have, it was the first all titanium set of irons, Mizuno released them in 1989. When I first began to play Golf around 1992, I bought these mgc-35 clubs from a local golf pro for $200.00. I was so excited. The graphite shafts with titanium heads made me feel like I was setting the technology trend. The heads even had lead tape on the back and I thought that contributed to higher loft. Well, 18 years later I'm still playing these clubs. Every time I say I'm gonna finally buy new clubs I shot in the 70's. (I'm normally in the mid-80's) Is it time to change clubs?

Mizuno released the MGC-35 in 1989 and they were only sold in Japan, as Mizuno felt that not only was the American market not ready for titanium irons yet, but they were also extremely expensive, easily twice the price of any golf clubs being sold in the US. They are HUGE, even by today’s standards, and they’re even larger than the Tommy Armour Ti-100’s that came out almost 10 years later. They came with Mizuno’s propriety graphite shaft, and have a very unique feel to them. They aren’t as advanced as any of today’s modern irons, but if you ever see a set for a reasonable price, grab them and try them out, they’re fun to play with, and if you don’t like them you can always flip them.
