∙ 12y agoThe rulings used to be that only the person/team that are serving can win points. However, about 5 years or so ago, they changed the scoring system to everybody being able to score on anybody's serve.

Now in the 21 point format every time you win a particular point your score is added.

A match in badminton is a game up to fifteen points. Matches make up sets and usually, in badminton, one set is made up of three matches. Each match has fifteen games.
1 match is played to 11 points.

There is no maximum time for a badminton game. Games are played to 21 points, but you must win by at leats 2 points. The maximum number of points allowed is 30, though, so it is possible to win 30-28 or even 30-29.

You need to have 21 points to win the women singles badminton match.
