It's up to what you find the easiest to run. In my opinion, the mile is the easiest for me. It also depends on what kind you're in. There's either long distance, sprinting, or throwing, but throwing doesn't involve running. Some schools also have pole vaulting. The mile is a good event because if you're not all about winning, you can go your own speed, but not too slow, and it doesn't tire you out once you've done it a couple times before. I had another junior high runner on our team that was slower than me, so I felt like I could go my own speed, which wasn't too slow or too fast. Always try to sprint at the end of every race. It helps with your time.
