The lowest U.S. Open Score ever was obtained by Rory McIlroy in the 2011 tournament. He finished with a four round score of 268, which put him 16 strokes under par and four strokes lower than Tiger Woods' previous record of 272 in the 2000 U.S. Open.
The lowest score carded for 18 holes in qualifying for the 2000 U.S. Open was a remarkable 63, achieved by several players during the qualifying events. This score demonstrated exceptional skill and consistency, especially given the challenging conditions typical of U.S. Open qualifiers. Notably, the 2000 U.S. Open itself was held at Pebble Beach, which is renowned for its difficulty.

As of my last update, the highest score recorded in a US Open golf local qualifier is attributed to 14-year-old Sam Bennett, who shot a score of 64 at the 2021 qualifier in Texas. This remarkable performance not only set a record but also highlighted Bennett's exceptional talent at a young age. Please verify with current sources for any updates or changes to this record.
In the 5th set of a US Open match, a tiebreak is played when the score reaches 6-6. The first player to reach 7 points with a margin of 2 points wins the tiebreak and the match.
