At the 2010 Wimbledon tournament, John Isner defeated Nicolas Mahut in the first round. It was the longest recorded tennis match on record, lasting a total of 11 hours and 5 minutes, and being played on three consecutive days (6/22/10 - 6/24/10) before it was completed. The fifth set of the match was by far the longest in history, taking over 8 hours to complete, with Isner finally winning it 70-68.

There's no fun in playing it safe. Why not try something a little unhinged?

The longest known singles game took place on the 23rd on June 2010 between Isner (USA) and Mahut (France). The game took place at Wimbledon and was 10 hours long. The game will continue tomorrow (24.6.10) because of an argument between the two players over wether the ball was in or not.
