The difference between regular flex and soft flex graphite irons are the suitability to the needs of the golfer. Stronger golfers swing faster thus needing the regular flex. Ladies and seniors, on the other hand, need soft flex graphite irons.

How old are we talking? Around 15/16? By the time a player is around this age they should be able to use mens golf clubs easily. Only if they are smaller or haven't grown fully should they contemplate ladies irons. A set of custom fit mens irons would be ideal for a youth golfer.
The oss irons are oversized ones and are a lot easier to hit as they are more forgiving.
It all depends on what you want to use. I personally like curling irons better, after all, no one uses curlers anymore. Only old cranky ladies in movies. It's sort of old fashioned. A curling iron is faster and easier.
