The basic movement in tennis is running. You have your racket and you just have to strategically hit the ball in various places to make your opponent run so that the ball would double bounce and you would win the point. To improve, just keep practicing and you'll learn a lot. Also, take private lessons or join a clinic. That will help A LOT.
