All events pay a different amount. The better you finish in any event the more you make, so tennis players do not have a set amount they make it all depends on how well they play in every event, how many events they play in and how much the payout is for the event. They can also make money for endorsemant deals and the such.
Most professional tennis players, both men and women, do not receive a "salary", per se. Players who are just starting in the college and/or amateur circuits, might be sponsored by family, friends, local businesses, etc, who will pay for travel, hotels, equipment, training, food, etc (college players may also be given scholarships, which will help pay for their education and, in many cases, training at the collegiate level). When the player becomes a "professional", the might get "picked-up" by a commercial sponsor who will pay the player to represent their product(s). The player then needs to win a certain number of tournaments in order to maintain that sponsorship, and, of course, to earn more money. The prize money varies greatly between professional tennis tournaments (n.b., even players who lose in the first rounds of an event are often given a token amount of prize money, which is rarely enough to pay their travel expenses; hence the need for sponsorhips).
