How would a person illegally run a marathon? Assuming he did not get money for doing so, why worry about it? To qualify for the Boston Marathon, you have to qualify in a marathon that is sanctioned by the Boston Marathon Association. Once you have qualified, you may enter the Boston Marathon. It is the only one that requires a qualifying time in order to enter. Many runners train hard to make the qualification time and are frustrated if someone jumps in the course and runs it illegally. There is no money involved, just hard, honest training.

60 percent of the time they complete it everytime
As of this year, you don't. If you weren't able to register on opening day you're out of luck for 2011. Qualifying times are good for a little over 18 months so if you qualified after September 30 of 2010 your time is likely to be good for 2012. However, due to the 2010 registration filling on opening day, the race officials are considering making changes to qualifications for future events and the 2012 criteria have not been officially announced.

Never during a marathon. Your body does not have the ability to metabolize fats into energy during the time it takes to run a marathon.
