The majority of Golf balls are white, however they do come in many different colours such as yellow for visibility in evening play, and Paula Creamer sometimes uses a pink ball on the LPGA Tour. They have an arrangement of dimples which are designed to reduce drag and allow the ball to fly better. There can be a selection of different sizes of dimples on one golf ball, this allows maximum coverage. The majority of dimples are round however some Callaway Golf balls have hexagonal ones. There is also the manufacturers name and/ or logo on what is known as the front of the golf ball and either below it or above it there is a number, this is mainly used for identification purposes or occasionally for luck. There is also the type of ball on the side of the golf ball, and sometimes an arrow or line, to help line up putts.
