A split time is basically the time it takes to run a fraction of a race. If there is a 1500 meter race, there could be split times at 400 meters, 800 meters, and 1200 meters. So the time it took to run the first 400 meters of the 1500 meter race would be called a split time.
There is no 500 meters race in the world championship. They go from 400 to 800. There is a 5000 meters race though.
It's not that easy.If you know the time for some number of yards, and you want the time for thatsame number of meters at that same average speed, then you have to multiplythe 'yards' time by 1.0936 .
Using track events as an example, a split time is the time it takes to run a portion of the race. If you are running the 1500 meter race, you might have split times at 400 meters, 800 meters, and 1200 meters.

11.37 would be for 100 meters.
One mile equals to 1 609.344 meters. Countries that use International System of Units that imported some contests such as a mile race or a quarter mile sprint rounded the mile to 1 600 meters and its quarter to 400 meters. For practical terms you might use the 1 600 m race time as the same as the one mile race time, but for precision you may use the full conversion rate bolded above.
1 mile = 1608 meters, so they are pretty much the same
The fastest lap time ever at Bathurst race track is 1:59.29, set by Chaz Mostert in the 2019 Bathurst 1000.
distance = rate * time 1000 meters = 331 meters/second * x seconds x = 1000 / 331 So about 3 seconds.
1000 meters is not contested in Olympic or world championships. The closest distance to 1000 regularly contested is 800 meters. The record for 800m freestyle is held by Zhang Lin of China which he made on 4 August,2012. He clocked a time of 7:32.12.
