The main clubs should be a 3 wood, 5, 7and 9 iron, sand/pitching wedge and a putter. To find good quality clubs for a bargain go to sports direct online and lookat either Jaxx or Dunlop. I use Jaxx and they are fabulous. Winn Drivers are very good too. I can hit a 200 yard drive very easily and i am not even a teen

The 'best' clubs for kids are clubs that meet 3 criteria. 1) Must be light enough for the child to swing freely. 2) Must be short enough to promote a somewhat upright swing plane 3) Must be cheap enough to be replaced on a regular basis

No one is positive which clubs tiger used during all of his childhood Golf career but it is positive that he did use Ping Eye 2 irons while he played in the 1992 Los Angeles Open when he was in his later teens.

There are a number of places. Either a good local golf shop, ebay, online retailers and even your local pro shop. If the local shops do not have any in store, they will be more than happy to order them in for you, all you have to do is ask.

It largely depends on his ability, swing speed, and height. Assuming he is a beginner, pick up a used set.

Irons, get a good cavity back with regular flex. Try to get something that will last him a few years, like callaway x22 or the taylormade burners. These were both very solid brands in 2009 and you get them for cheap and still have a good iron.

Woods, I would stay away from woods at this point in time and have him learn his irons.

Driver, No matter what you say, he is going to want a driver. Get him a used driver from the bargain bin at your local golf reseller, it wont matter and he will need a new one once he gets the game down and grows.

Putter, a good hand me down or something from the used bin. If your getting a used putter, get it cut down to fit his height and make sure it doesnt have a damaged/dinged face. Something simple that doesnt have an insert will last a while and can be put to good use.

A sawed-down golf club is great for children who are too small for full-sized clubs.
