In tennis, world rankings are determined by points. Players earn points throughout the year by competing well in multiple tournaments on the pro tour. This system means that the no. 2 player can beat the no.1 player in any given match, but they will not be guaranteed to takeover the no.1 spot. Thus players must defend ranking points if they want to remain at the top of the world rankings.
Protected ranking.
if you mean ageing points they age you horse by to months if you mean points you get in sports you don't have those you have a ranking
Which points are you referring to? You can gain karma points (see profile >> my account >> my karma) if that is what you mean. Also, your horse can gain skill points through riding, training, competing, and doing lessons. And you can gain ranking points through improving all those aspects listed on the ranking pages.
The term PR means Protected Ranking, whereby an injured player is only ranked for two months of the term of an injury, and the ranking is used over the period in which he returns to play. This ranking is used for tournament entry purposes.
i think the rank is calculated on the points achieved on the tennis circuit whereas the seed is the tournament rank given to the player. the seed and the rank can be different. for instance, a player's ranking could be #7 in the world, however, his/her seeding for a particular tournament could be #6 or even #8 etc. so the 4th seed would mean that the player is given rank #4 for that specific tournament irrespective whether he/she is actually rank #4 in the world or not.
You probably mean "Lawn" tennis. Lawn tennis is simply tennis played on a grass court.

when playing a grand slam, one of the players will eventually come to a point where it means they could win the match. lets say for example 40-0 for players A if player B wins the next point to make it 40-15 they defended a championship point because they prevented player A from winning the grand slam
