girl gymnasts work on each separate of four events, polishing old skills during the competition season, learning and braving new skills off-season. bars takes a lot of abs and pain tolerance sometimes (your hands get quite sore from all the rips), while beam takes a lot of nerve and balance. vault is all about power and timing, while floor works your stamina and speed. most gymnasts also have a conditioning time, when they push their muscles harder than ever to be able to do their moves easily. at my gym, we work on the events for two or three hours, and most conditioning usually takes up an hour.
In floor they tumble and parts of dance. On vault they run across a platform and bounce off a spring board then push off a table then do a flip or whatever. On beam the can do flips and dance just slower more boring floor in a straight line. On bars most levels start with a kip, you can do casts handstands and jump to the high bar. Hope this helped!
Leotards are one peice clothing the gymnasts wear during practices and competitions. They help the gymnasts move and bend freely without restricting movements throughout their routine. Hope this helps
Gymnasts use a beam as part of their apparatus in artistic gymnastics routines. The balance beam is a narrow, elevated platform that gymnasts perform various acrobatic and dance elements on as part of their routine.
This is called a "salute". Gymnasts salute the judges before and after their routines. This signifies to the judge that the gymnast is ready. Before the routine, the judge will salute the gymnast (either by raising one arm or turning on a green light) letting the gymnast know that the judges are ready to watch his/her performance; then the gymnast will salute back letting the judge know he/she is ready to perform the routine. If the gymnast starts the routine before the judge salutes, the routine is not scored. After the routine, the gymnast will salute to let the judge know that the routine is finished and they can stop judging the performance.
The uneven bars are used for doing a complex routine (Olympics) or for levels, they are simply for moves that you get scored on from a 0.00-10.00. It is one of the 4 events that GIRL gymnasts compete on.
yes. level seven and up is called optional gymnastics and the gymnasts and or their coaches or a choreographer make their routines using skills that the gymnast does best on. under level seven the routines are standard and each gymnast does the same skills.
It depends if you are awarded bonuses for harder skills. If you are not, having an easier routine is better.
NO. Shawn Johnson does not change her routine everytime she competes. She changes her routine when she gets skills and there-fore can increase the difficulty of her routines. Also she will change her routine every once in awhile (the music and dance) so that she doesn't get bored (or the judges and audience) with her routine because then it wouldn't be fun to perform or to watch. The same goes for other gymnasts too!
Yes!! Coordination is mainly used by the rhythmic gymnasts, when performing routines whilst listening to the music for a specific level. Their routine has to be coordinated with the beat or rhythm of the music
all gymnasts use grips
There were no gymnasts in 2010. Gymnasts are in the summer olypics.
