At the time of his victories, none. However, later in his life President Eisenhower named him an 'Ambassador of Sports' in 1955. Owens received the Presidental Medal of Freedom from President Ford in 1976 and, after his passing, received the Congressional Gold Medal from President Bush in 1990.
