well many things if gymnastics is started by a child at a young age and is practiced till the late or early teens it can be very grueling on the body and cause many spinal problems because all that is happening is all the stress on the spine that gymnastics puts on the body is happening at the developing stage so really it is super hard on the body and has the 2nd highest total injuries in a sport. Physical therapists also say that a girl who starts gymnastics at 4 by the time she hits 14 or 15 she will have the bone structure and strength of a 70 year old.

In gymnastics, it is estimated that around 100,000 injuries occur annually in the United States alone. This figure encompasses a range of injuries, from minor strains and sprains to more severe injuries like fractures and concussions. The injury rate can vary based on factors such as the level of competition, age group, and the type of gymnastics practiced. Overall, while gymnastics is a highly demanding sport, proper training and safety measures can help mitigate injury risks.
