A Pentathelon
The 1928 summer Olympic Games was the first time the sport of track and field offered events for women. There were five events available to women participants.
The Decathlon is comprised of Ten (10) events. The Pentathlon is comprised of Five (5) events.There are a combined fifteen (15) events. However, the pentathlon's five events are also encompassed within the decathlon as well. Therefore, technically there are only Ten (10) unique events between the two competitions.
A decathlon consists of 10 track and field events
All swimming and track events. Also events in canoeing, equestrian, cycling, rowing, sailing, pentathlon, and triathlon.
Field event, all events that ur not actually on the track are field events!

That is correct. Track events are won by who can run the fastest (timing) and field events are won by who can throw the furthest or jump the furthest/highest (distance/height).
