There are four types of Badminton serves: low serve, high serve, flick serve, and drive serve.

The angle of these serves can also be varied: straight, wide, or at the receiver.

High Serve- Used in singles. This serve goes up high and comes down as vertical as possible at the back of your opponents court.

Low Serve- Can be used in doubles or singles. When you serve like this, you want your opponent to lift it. A good low serve is close to the net line, and falls near the service line. A bad low serve is either into the net (Which would lose you the point) or too high, which gives your opponent the chance to attack it and kill it.

Flick serve- A useful serve to have. As the name suggests, the shuttle is flicked with power behind your opponent. Good flick serves look like low serves, and therefore deceive your opponent. Use this serve sparingly, because if your opponent anticipates it, it gives them a chance to smash.

Drive Serve- Quite a rare serve. The shuttle is hit so it travels flat over the net cord, and lands near the back of your opponents court.

Master all of these serves, and your opponent will never know what's coming next.
