For it to be a recognised hole in one, it must be in an official competition, and you will need to complete 18 holes.
However, if you go out and played 9 holes with your friends and have a hole in one, it still counts, you still had a hole in one.

∙ 14y agoWell, it would need to be in a full 18 hole competition. If it was a nine hole course, you would have needed to play those nine holes twice. Basically it would need to have been in an official competition.
