You are only allowed 14 under the rules of Golf. But if you are practicing you can have more. You can also have less than 14.
Well, lets start with the putter. The putter is the one that looks completely smaller (usually) club, and you use it on the putting green (obviously...). Moving up, most modern sets don't have the 3 and 4 iron, frankly because it's like hitting a block of wood. Irons are usually on an angle and are named accordingly to length. The lower the number, the longer the shaft. Then there is the pitching wedge, and sand wedge used according to their names. Then in most modern sets, there are hybrids. This is a mix of an iron, and a driver/wood. Then the woods are just smaller and are used for distances, then the driver is often the largest club with the longest shaft.
There is no set configuration of golf clubs in a set. The rules of golf allow you to carry 14 clubs, so most golf carry a variety of woods, irons, wedges and a putter. Many golfers now also carry one or more hybrid clubs instead of longer irons.
A typical configuration might be:
Driver, 3 Wood, 5 Wood
3 iron - PW
Sand Wedge, Lob Wedge
Putter
Some players might drop the 5 wood and add a gap wedge (between a PW and SW)
Some advanced players might have a 2 iron instead of the 5 wood
Other players might drop the 3 iron and add a 3 hybrid
The Club Glove Golf Travel Bag is extra large.
14 Clubs in a Golf Bag
Clubs, balls, tees and a bag.
You are permitted to carry 14 clubs in your bag, including your putter. Most golfers carry the allowed 14.
The Callaway Golf- XTT X-Lite Carry Stand Bag is very light and can carry all of your clubs.
A disc golf bag is designed to carry discs around. Sports such as Frisbee and discus throwing. A regular golf bag is designed to carry golf balls and clubs around.
14 in your bag maximum.
There is no rule about a minimum number of clubs. The rule simply states you may not have more than 14 clubs in your bag.
One rule in golf is that there you can only have up to 14 clubs in your bag at once.
Its a golf bag an its 14, just like everyone else.
caddying is when you pay someone to help you carry your golf bag, get your clubs, look where your ball is going, etc.
The Rules of Golf have strict definitions of what does and doesn't count as a golf club. A pool cue doesn't have a face, therefore it doesn't count as a golf club. You should be allowed to carry it in your bag without it counting as one of your 14 clubs, but you wouldn't be allowed to use it for golf.
