What is the average senior golf tour course length?
The average length of a PGA Senior Tour golf course
varies...though most are 7,100 to 7,300 yards. The length of this
year's course for the Senior U.S. Open at Inverness (Toledo, Ohio)
was 7,255 yards. The tougher the course (narrow fairways, small
slick greens, lots of hazards), the shorter the course will tend to
be.
For comparison purposes, the average length of a regular PGA
Tour golf course is 7,300 to 7,700 yards. The length of this year's
course for the U.S. Open at Congressional Country Club (Blue
Course) was 7,547 yards.
