I am not going to lie to you, the difference is simply quality. There is a reason why the top tour pro's use Titleist, Taylormade and Ping etc and not a £35/$50 Golf club. The expensive drivers have millions of £/$ spent on research and development to give distance and feel. The cheaper ones don't. Also the expensive drivers have very good shafts in them which help the player hit the ball farther and straighter.

The heads of the expensive drivers are made of top grade titanium, cheaper drivers are made of steel or a cheap titanium compound. You can usually hear a cheaper driver before you see it with the deafening ding off the club face.
