if you do cross country, really the 3200 is pretty easy. However, the pace is obviously much more faster and you get more pressured to win the race compared to cross country since everyone is watching you. For me, the first 2 laps, i just try to stay with the pack and after I finish my first mile, I start picking up the pace. For me, I don't really like racing someone to the finish line, so I start speeding up while pacing myself to avoid that. The main key is to get your opponents toward the end, since most of them will be dead, and unable to really sprint the end. Also don't let your opponents get to far from you, even though your trying to save your energy, it will be very hard to catch them in the end, even if their slowing down. For the 3200 i don't really like wearing flats or spikes because the 2 mile is to long, and your feet will start hurting, so i stick with my normal shoes. The 3200 is really not that hard and long as you think. I actually prefer this event over the mile and 800 because you can catch up to your competition with enough time.
3200 meters long, if you are talking about the time it takes to run it.... that depends on how fast you are over that distance.
no because the runners would have a hard time turning the corners.
Soccer includes a lot of running and long hard hours of it. Track IS running. They are both similar in a lot of ways. It depends on what you like, if you like soccer then you should go for that, but if you like track then think about joining that. Just remember that soccer and track both include a lot of running.

If you are looking for good track running shoes, be sure to check the tread based on what surface you are going to be running on. If your idea of track running is on a rubber track then you will want a tread that is shorter. For a shale track you will want something more like a cross trainer in order to get some traction with the running surface.
a running track?? xD
