ok, the challenges are given to each player at the start of EVERY match. 3 per set. if a player hits a ball, and the line judge calls it out, the player has a choice to challenge or leave the call. what they mean by 3 INCORRECT challenges is that in this situation, the ball was really out, so you lose 1 challenge, 2 remain. if you get 3 wrong challenges, you must now accept every call, until another set starts.
