The above is correct, but I want to add just a few things: since cryptozoology is not an accepted field of study there are no universities which provide grants or other funding for such projects. So, any study has to be done either on a volounteer basis or extremely cheaply if funded by an organization of interested people. From time to time, cryptozoology does find itself back in vogue and there is a fair amount of money to be made in public appearances and lectures at conventions, radio programs and day-time Talk Shows, but for the most part, this part of the business is over and done with.
