In response to Mark, do you know a single marathon runner who can run 3:75.00 minute mile, much less eight of them in under 4 minutes? Considering that the top marathon runners, who run 10K marathons (6.2 miles), are running just over 6 miles in 29:18.00, I highly doubt that your claim of 8 miles in 30 minutes is correct, sorry.
"Average person" is not fit enough to run 8 miles.
Even a fit person, eg a soldier at training, will only go on a 4-5 mile run in the morning, and that is considered to be something only a very fit person will do.
Cheetahs reach just under 80 mph top, but can't sustain it as they're sprinters. They too would struggle to run 8 miles.
whoever answered that /\ above is ignorant. I am average, im 10 lbs overweight, i smoke 2 or 3 cigs a day, and watch lotsa Tv...but, I run 8 to 15 miles a day, in the mountains. I ran 8 this morning, not on flat ground, but uphill, with a 950ft elevation gain on trails. It takes me 85 minutes it that type of terrain. I average 50-60 miles a week. On flat ground, 8 miles would probably take an hour.
