The Masters has the smallest field out of the major championships at 90–100 players. In 2015, 97 golfers received invitations to play in the Masters Golf Tournament. Of those 97, 55 made the cut after the second round (36 holes). To "make the cut", players must be either in the top 50 places (ties counting), or within 10 strokes of the leader's score.

Top 60 and ties, and anybody within 10 shots of the lead after 36 holes.

It is now just the top 60 and ties. The 10 shot rule was eliminated in 2012.

It is the top 70 players and ties, so it will be at least 70.
