It all depends on the player, traditionally you would find a 1 wood (driver), a 3 wood and a 5 wood, however there are 7, 9, 11 and even 13 woods, you can have as many as you want as long as the total number of clubs does not exceed 14.

But could also use hybrids, 2 iron, gap wedge, lob wedge etc, 14 clubs is the maximum.
You are allowed to have 14 clubs in your bag. However, your question makes me think you are talking about a standard set you can buy at Wal-Mart or Target. Those come with a driver, 3-wood, 5-wood (sometimes), and irons 3-PW and a putter.
That would equal 13 clubs, so you could have one more.
A normal set will consist of 3 woods these are drivers numbered one, three and five. There are also seven irons, numbered, four, five, six, seven, eight and nine. There is a pitching wedge and a putter. So usually twelve clubs. Some have a Hybrid also, sometimes numbered 3H.
Per USGA and PGA rules, no tournament player can have more than 14 clubs in his/her bag at anytime.
