The amount of time it would take an individual to train for half of a marathon is determined on the individual's level of physical fitness at the start of the training. If the individual has no fitness level, it would be safer to start slow, as not to hurt yourself. This type of training should be expected to take anywhere from 3-6 months.

Depends on the age, fitness level and gender of the athlete, as well as the course.

The world record for a man is 58:23 and for a woman it is 1:05:50. Most people consider a time under 1:30:00 to be reasonably fast.

Some half marathon races will set maximum times that the course will be open, thus allowing slower runners and walkers to determine whether they will be quick enough to actually complete the distance before they register.

It depends on the person and their athletic ability, but around 3 to 5 months.

I walk 5km in an hour just wondering if I am in proper walking zone or need to pick it up a bit?
