I think it might be grass courts or indoor courts. Grass courts are the fastest type of tennis court in common use. They consist of grass grown on very hard-packed soil, similar to Golf greens , which adds an additional variable: bounces depend on how healthy the grass is, how recently it has been mowed, and the wear and tear of recent play.Points are usually very short and the serve plays a more important role. The surface is less firm and more slippery than hard courts, causing the ball to slide and bounce lower, and so players must reach the ball faster. Serve and volley players take advantage of the surface by serving the ball (usually a slice serve because of its effectiveness on grass) and then running to the net to cut off the return of serve, leaving their opponent with little time to reach the low-bouncing, fast-moving ball. Players often hit flatter shots to increase power and allow the ball to travel faster after and before the ball hits the ground. Due to high maintenance costs however, grass courts are now rare as they must be watered and mowed often, and take a longer time to dry after rain than hard courts.
There are 3 kinds of tennis surfaces. Clay\Hard\Grass
Clay Courts : This is a slow court and hence ball bounces high .
Reason : Clay exerts a lot of friction against the ball's horizontal movement and hence the ball bounces high.
Hard\Grass: These are fast courts.
Reason: Less friction is exerted against the ball's horizontal movement and hence the ball bounces less. It is difficult to return slices in these courts. Technically Grass bounces less than hard.
To understand the bounce: imagine what would happen when you CUT the ball using a rough surface(Table Tennis bat) vs a piece of glass. The result is obvious ; TT bat bounces the ball higher than glass.
put tape around the perimiter of it.
I am assuming you are talking about tennis. On a grass surface, the ball will bounce fast. On clay courts, the ball will bounce slower than on grass. On a hard court, the speed of the ball bounce will be in between clay and grass.
yes
cement
no
if it is rough it will bounce lower and it is smooth it will bounce higher
it decreases it
Tennis balls are affected by the environment in a few ways. The environment can affect how it bounces. Warm air makes the ball expand causing it to have a higher bounce. Cold air makes the ball contract and can make it harder to bounce.
Yes, the surface can affect the bounce of a ball. A harder surface like concrete will result in a higher bounce compared to a softer surface like grass or sand. The elasticity and friction of the surface play a role in how the ball rebounds.
Because it has a soft surface.
In theory, yes, however the largest effect of the temperature will be on the court. The hotter the surface is, the higher the ball will bounce.
not as far as you know is not a good answer because it does not explain. the mud will make the tennis ball heavier and denser if it has water in it the ball heavy wont go far for its bounce.
