The most math you need to cheer is knowing how to count to 8.

The way you set up your lines is geometry.

The different stunts and moves have specific angles they need to be at to make it the best it could be.

math is used in Cheerleading in soooo many ways. first off at practices you learn the routine with counts, theres when you divide the team up into stunt groups you need 5 people in each stunt group so then you have to divide your team up.

this is a very good answer but you also need it when your putting your cheerleaders into formation you need to know how many inches you need between them and when your doing the cheer were their arms and legs should be like a 90 Degree angel

It relates to math because in gymnastics your setting your body in different angles.

It also relates to math because of the scoring they use. An example of how they score is : there are two judges and the first judge gives the category and score which are ; in vault they score a 8.200,bars 7.300,beam 8.900,floor 8.800. The second judge scored the following: vault 8.500,bars 7.000,beam 8.800,floor 8.500. How you get the average of the score is : first add up the two vault score which are 16.7 and since there are two judges you divide 16.7 / 2= 8.35 and you would keep going and should get the answers as shown; bars = 7.15,beam 8.85,floor 8.65. Also to get the all around score you would add up all of the averages and you should get a total of 33.000 and that's one way that math can be used in gymnastics.
