i can run 51 seconds in 400m, so wat i do is sprint the first 200m in about 25secs nd then slow a bit on the bend then i srint te last 100m. If you do this you should improve your time but it really hurts ur legs during the end.

Your going to want to run splits around the same time. i usually run a 2:10 and win the meets but im in a mayflower league so theres not really too much competition. I usually run my first lap in 68 and then finish with a 64 but that is because i have a good kick in the end. You want to be on the balls of your feet throughout the race and stay strong the whole way. Goodluck.

Try to get your split times close to even, like he said above. Also, leave nothing behind once you hit that 200m mark. Not saying go into a full out sprint, but speed up a bit

Lose weight. Build up those leg muscles. Work on lung capacity. I think that about covers it. Oh and practice! practice! practice!

Keep a nice steady and fast pace for 300m of the race. About 80% of your speed, and then in the last 100m give it all you got. :)
