The wires run through the tank to a plug, Dixon ect the plug and remove the pins from it (keeping track of which pin goes where). Most have three pins and an empty slot, if you've got a low fuel warning light in the fairing then you probably have four pins to remove. After removing the pins you simply lift up on the guage it is pressed in with a rubber sleeve. If you must pry on it be smart, use something that won't damage your paint or your chrome.
