  1. Step 1

Fill your sink with warm, soapy water. Place your paddle in the water and wipe the rubber areas with a sponge, removing any grime.

  2. Step 2

Remove the paddle and dry it thoroughly with a towel.

  3. Step 3

Set the paddle on a clean surface and let it air dry.

  4. Step 4

Cover the rubber surface of the paddle with strips of Duct Tape. Make sure the tape touches only the rubber sheet. Leave about an inch of loose tape along the edges for easy removal.

  5. Step 5

Wait one hour. Carefully remove the tape, strip by strip. Your paddle's stickiness should now be restored.

well, you could get a rubber cleaner the one i have is donic biocleaner or something like that. What that will do is clean the rubber remove dust and get it to be more sticky or like you mentioned tackiness. And also try to prevent touching the rubber too. Also you can get what people call adhesive rubber protection. And they are very cheap and affordable, the one i would get if i were you it would be the butterfly adhesive rubber protection film on megaspin.net. Hope this helps.

The laws of Table Tennis do not allow any solvents to be applied except those used to keep it clean. By doing this on a regular basis is the best was, along with not storing your racket in extreme heat or cold places.

I assume you want it more sticky to try and produce more spin. But the problem is that you don't do anything to your paddle to make it more sticky. You have to buy new rubber that is designed to give you more spin.

very true for the competition level paddles. Replacing rubber is the best way.

clean the surface of the rubber once in a while with water. It also does help to huff a breath on it and wipe it off with your hand every once in a while. If your rubber doesn't already have enough tackiness you could spread a layer of vegetable oil on the surface, let it soak in, then repeat the process like three times. But, then don't use it in tournaments, you will run the risk of getting disqualified.
