To do a back bend you must first be stretched out very good and than you try bending over backwards. After you do that you then you put your hands up in the air above you where you can see them at all times. Watch them at the same time you're doing the backwards bending. When you do that you're focusing on where your hands are going to land. Then you will actually be able to do the back bend.
