Well, the most common shape of dimple is the circular one. This is on nearly every Golf ball and is on them for a reason, because it is the most efficient. Callway HX golf balls have hexagonal dimples, these give the ball a 100% dimple coverage and they believe it allows the ball to fly better, and be more stable in the air.

A golf ball with more dimples goes the furthest because the more dimples the straighteir the accurcy and line up is.

Dimples don't affect the spin at all. Dimples allow the ball to fly, and become aerodynamic.

Not really. Dimples are designed to give the ball stability during flight. The club and the core of the ball determine distance.
