It was lost to friction between the Bowling ball, the lane, and the air through which
the ball was forced to plow on its way to the far end of the gutter. Some of it went
toward kinetic energy of air that was pushed out of the way, and the rest of it caused
some of the floor boards in the lane to become slightly warmer.
