Firstly, Byron has a great name for being a golfer. There are a couple of issues here, first of all he should take his time, and learn the fundamentals of the game such as a sound swing, proper alignment and good timing. The driver isn't the easiest club to hit, even the best players in the world don't hit it down the middle every time. If he really struggles maybe he should try a 3 wood or rescue, he will sacrifice distance but have a club that is easier to hit.
The mental side to Golf is always very difficult, the best players in the world have sports psychologists. It is very easy to let one good shot get you too confident or one bad shot completely destroy you. Byron should take it one shot at a time and focus on his own game, not let other player's comments or shots put him off.
Byron could possibly go to the range and work on his game before he heads out to the course.
Or....If you want the A+ answer which I'm betting that's the answer you want its
