Depends on what kind of riding you're looking to do. 36H will stand up to just about anything "normal", and if you want a 46H rim yo will most likely have to order it custom drilled. You can however get 48H rims, but they are pretty much only seen on tandems, some BMX bikes, and (very) occasionally on bikes built for loaded touring. But whatever rim you get, make sure you get a hub to match.
