A few different reasons really. First off, it was the latest in the year a World Series ever started (Oct. 27) because of games being pushed back on account of 9/11. Also, the Arizona Diamondbacks were only in their fourth season of existence when they reached the Series (a record). The Diamondbacks beat the New York Yankees in the Series, a team which has won by and far the most Championships, making the Diamondbacks' victory sort of an underdog story.
They have played in 40 World Series and have won 27. So they have lost 13.
The New York Yankees have lost 88 World Series games. Of course, they have been in 39 World Series so it would only make sense that they have lost the most games. They have also won the most World Series games with 130.
Red Sox and Yankees are in the same league (American) and so they can not meet in the World Series since the World Series is played between the winners of the American League and National League of the Major Baseball League
The baseball playoff competitions are structured so the team that advances and wins the World Series must win 11 games. The breakdown is as follows: American/National League Division Series - Best 3 of 5 games American/National League Championship Series - Best 4 of 7 games World Series - Best 4 of 7 games.
2009, with the Yankees, is Alex Rodriguez's only World Title ... so far.
They became world champs in 2001 so 9 years since the Diamondbacks won.
Iconic design, spectacular location, world-class performances
No he's only been in 1 world series so far which is the current world series
Four years after first fielding a team, in 2011 the Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the New York Yankees, four games to three, in the World Series. They did so by scoring two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning of Game 7.
The ICONic boyz weren't on yet, but they will be so wait ICONiacs!
ICON is the place where the ICONic Boyz danced, so they named themselves after it.
The World Series was first played in 1903, so no one played in 1379.
Here is every time that has happenned: 2004 NLCS: St. Louis over Houston. 2001 World Series: Arizona over NY Yankees. 1991 World series: Minnesota over Atlanta. 1987 World Series: Minnesota over St. Louis. I used a baseball website to look all that up so I know im right.
Cause there Grand !
The St. Louis Cardinals won the 2006 World Series, so they got the rings.
I don't think so ??
There were no grand slams in the 1983 World Series. Indeed, only one inning in that entire series had so many as three runs scored in it.
