I don't know that history has recorded the first woman to compete in the Olympics. History has recorded that the first woman to win a gold medal was Charlotte Cooper of Great Britain who won gold in ladies singles tennis in the 1900 Olympics in Paris. The 1900 Olympics were the second Olympics of the modern era and the first that women were allowed to compete in. Women were not allowed to compete in the first modern Olympics held in Greece in 1896.

The athletes from Greece enter first and the athletes from the host nation (in 2010 that is Canada) enter last. In between, the athletes enter in alphabetical order of the country name as known in the host nation's language (in 2010 that is English). At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Greece will enter first, Russia will enter last, and in between the countries will enter in alphabetical order in the Russian language.
Greece is always the first to enter. The country that is hosting the Olympics is the last to enter
