The regular catcher for the Yankees in 1960 was Elston Howard, who caught in 91 games. Yogi Berra was the back-up, catching in 63 games, while playing in the outfield in another 36 games. John Blanchard was the Yanks catcher in another 28 games. By the way, it was Blanchard behind the plate and Berra in left, when Bill Mazeroski homered in the bottom of 9th inning in game 7 of the World Series to give the Pittsburgh Pirates a 10-9 win and the Series championship.
