That was Dave Stieb of the Toronto Blue Jays. Incredibly, two of those games came in successive starts (September 24, 1988 against the Indians and September 30, 1988 against the Orioles). The third came August 4, 1989 against the Yankees.
A standard game of Major League Baseball includes 9 innings (this number may be shortened due to forces of nature or other events or may increase in the case of a tie ball-game after the bottom of the ninth and subsequent innings. The number of outs played in a standard baseball game is determined by the number of innings played and whether or not the home team was winning or not (tied or losing) after the top part of the last inning played. If after the away team bats in the 9th inning the home team is ahead points wise, the home team will not bat in the bottom of the 9th and the game will be finished. In such a case the number of outs equals the product of the number of innings and six, minus 3. [Outs=(Innings x 6) - 3]. However, if a winner cannot be decided after the away teams at-bats during the top of the 9th inning, the home team will bat until either their score is greater than the away team's, or the home team receives 3 outs. If the home team cannot overcome the away team's score and loses or ties, the number of outs played equals the product of the number of innings played and six. [Outs=(Innings x 6)] If the home team can overcome the away team's score and wins the number of outs played is equal to the product of the number of innings and six, subtracted by the number determined after subtracting from three the number of outs received by the home team while batting before overcoming the away team's score. [Outs=(Innings x 6) - (3 - #outs during bottom of last inning played)].
On July 1, 1990, Andy Hawkins pitched a no-hitter and lost 4-0 to the Chicago White Sox. In 2001, commissioner Fay Vincent changed the definition of a no-hitter, to where a pitcher has to throw a complete, nine inning game. Andy lost credit for the no-hitter, being that the White Sox never came to bat in the 9th inning.
With one out in the 9th inning, pinch hitter Ryan McGuire flew out to Ricky Ledee in left field.
Yes ... on July 25, 1956 against the Cubs at Forbes Field in Pittsburgh. It came with no outs in the bottom of the 9th inning and gave the Pirates a 9-8 win. To this day it is the only walkoff inside the park grand slam in MLB history.
That was the St. Louis Cardinals on June 20. The White Sox scored 11 runs in the 3rd inning and 6 runs in the 6th inning and had a 20-2 lead going into the top of the 9th inning.
Jim Burton of the Boston Red Sox lost the 7th game in the 9th inning to the Cincinnati Reds in Fenway Park.
There are six (6) outs in one full inning of baseball. Each team will have 3 outs each.If a pitcher starts pitching in the 1st inning and finishes after the 9th inning, then how many innings did he pitch? Is it 9 or 4 1/2? Or is 9 innings just understood? Do the math. There are 6 outs in 1 inning. 6 X 9 equals 54 outs. One pitcher 27 outs, the other pitcher 27 outs. WHICH means they each pitched 1/2 a game. Which means they each pitched ____4 1/2 innings.6. 3 for the away team, 3 for the home team.
The home team would have to win the game. The home pitcher would face 27 batters and get 27 outs and the visiting pitcher would face 25 batters, getting 24 outs and allowing 1 to score somewhere between the first inning and the eighth inning. That would be 52 batters minimum for a 9 inning, 1-0 game.

That is when the home team is batting in the ninth inning. If the home team is ahead after the visiting team makes its three outs in the 'top' of the ninth (their turn to bat in the ninth inning) there is no bottom of the ninth because the game is over and the home team has won. If the home team is tied or behind the visiting team after the visiting team makes their three outs in the ninth inning, the home team comes to bat and it is called 'batting in the bottom of the ninth inning'.
Until one team wins.

I think you are asking who "Bats" first? The Visiting team bats first at the top of the inning for each inning with the Home team playing the field. After 3 outs they switch. Unless there is a tie they play for 9 innings (8 and a half if the home team is leading at the top of the 9th inning).
I believe your question is asked wrong by mistake. I'll try to answer what you might have been asking. If you are asking how many outs a team has in a half-inning, the answer is 3. A full inning consists of both teams getting 3 outs each. If you are asking how many innings a team has in a complete game, the answer is actually 5. After the 5th inning a game is considered complete in case the weather does not permit it to go any further. If there are no obstructions, the game will last 9 innings. If the game is tied at the end of the 9th inning, then it will continue on to the 10th and so on, until a team scores ahead and the inning is completed. If I'm correct, "inning" means when the players "come in" to play, so it's possible to say that each team actually "comes in" twice per inning, since they "come in" on the field for one half and "come in" to bat for the other half. That answer is debatable, though. It all depends on how you look at it.
