Leroy "Satchel" Paige was (about) 59 when he pitched for the Kansas City Athletics in 1965, purely as a publicity stunt. It is difficult to determine the oldest player who was on the field to actually play the game, and not just to draw crowds.

The MLB wanted to honor the negro leagues, so at the 2006 all star game Buck O Neil got to hit as the leadoff batter. He was intentionally walked and had a pinch runner come in.
