The first 2B to win multiple MVP awards was Rogers Hornsby who won in 1925 with the Cardinals and 1929 with the Cubs. This was before the Baseball Writers Association of American (BBWAA) began selecting MVP and is generally overlooked in baseball history. The first 2B to be selected MVP twice by the BBWAA was Joe Morgan of the Cincinnati Reds in 1975 and 1976. Morgan is the only 2B the BBWAA has selected as MVP more than once.
