He was a devastating blocker who knocked both Mike Lucci and Ray Nietschke our of ball games. He was the most reliable 4th and 1 ball carrier of all time. His only weakness was that he was a so so reciever. Walt Garrison was better then either Newhouse or Johnston but not as good as Perkins. Jim Taylor was a better runner then any of them, but was not the blocker that either of them were.
The best blocking Full-Back of all time is actually considered to be Larry Czonka of the Miami Dolphins.
