The NFL is short for the National Football League. Players are payed an average of $770 000 a year. The NFL has 32 teams that are split up into two groups, NFC & AFC. Then those groups are split up in divisions, there are always 4 teams in each division, and there are only 4 divisions in each AFC & NFC. The NFL is an awesome thing to watch. Then they have a playoff and the best team from the NFC plays the best team in the AFC in what is called the Superbowl.

The NFL was formed by eleven football teams back in 1920 as the American Professional Football Association and changed it name to the National Football League in 1922.
